FAQ
What does Transparent Digital Services (TDS) do?
TDS specialises in the setup, maintenance, and performance of digital advertising systems – think TikTok & Meta ads, Google, podcast advertising to Pinterest and Reddit or AI search. There are a host of platforms you see adverts through, and we make that possible for your business. We don’t create content or define your brand strategy—instead, we operate the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that powers your campaigns and allows you to measure success.
This includes ad platform management, server-side tracking, Google Tag Manager (GTM), analytics integration, CRM automation, live dashboarding, DNS and Website infrastructure. Our focus is on ensuring your campaigns are accurately tracked, efficiently executed, and fully optimised while being legally compliant.
How does server-side tracking improve ad performance?
Server-side tracking primarily through Conversions API (CAPI) – allows your website to send data directly to ad platforms like Facebook and Google. Without this ‘direct’ sending of 1st party data, it gets lost or blocked by a number of mechanisms in devices and browsers. Unlike client-side tracking (which relies on cookies), CAPI provides more reliable, compliant, and accurate event data. This enhances campaign learning, improves ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), and supports better attribution. TDS handles all aspects of CAPI setup and auditing as part of our core services.
What is Google Tag Manager and why is it important for digital ads?
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a system that collects and transmits user behaviour data from your website to platforms that handle your online ads. It’s essential for tracking conversions, purchase values, and engagement. At TDS, we manage both the client-side (browser-based) and server-side (data pipeline) of Google Tag Manager and consider it one of our key specialities. Ensuring events are correctly firing and conversion values are being transmitted can be the make or break for a business that depends on online sales. Without accurate GTM implementation, ad optimisation and performance measurement are fundamentally impaired.
How do I know if my website tracking is set up correctly?
If you’re unsure whether your tracking is working, TDS performs monthly audits to verify that all events (such as purchases, leads, or form submissions) are being captured and sent to the appropriate ad accounts. We test both browser and server-side data flows using tools like Google Tag Assistant, Facebook Test Events, and GA4 DebugView. A properly configured tracking system ensures that your advertising decisions are based on accurate, complete data – this allows you to make crucial decisions on accurate data.
Can TDS help with setting up and managing my CRM?
Yes. CRM and email automation setup is within our scope and we work with platforms like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, active campaign and Zoho to build workflows such as welcome sequences, abandoned cart flows, and re-engagement campaigns. While TDS doesn’t write your content for you or send broadcasts on your behalf, we assist in configuring systems, setting up automations, and ensuring data flows correctly into your CRM to measure it’s effectiveness.
Why is domain verification important for digital advertising?
Domain verification confirms your ownership of a website and enables ad platforms to connect accurately with your tracking infrastructure. It’s essential for implementing server-side tracking (like Facebook’s CAPI), reducing attribution loss, and complying with modern data privacy standards. TDS handles domain verification, DNS configuration, and ongoing CAPI audits to ensure your data is securely and accurately attributed to your campaigns.
Does TDS offer content creation for ads?
We have a network of great content creators, but in short – TDS does not produce content such as graphics, videos, or ad copy. Our role is to use the assets you provide to build and manage ad campaigns. We focus on media buying, conversion tracking, and digital infrastructure. However, we often support clients by advising on creative best practices and assisting with light copy edits when needed.
What platforms does TDS manage ads on?
TDS operates across all major advertising platforms including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Bing, Spotify Marquee, Microsoft Search, and Acast podcast advertising. Our role includes strategy, campaign setup, ongoing optimisation, and analytics reporting—everything needed to ensure ads perform effectively within each platform’s ecosystem.
Can TDS fix issues in my ad account or with my website’s data tracking?
Yes, troubleshooting is a key part of our ongoing scope. Whether you’re facing attribution errors, broken GTM tags, CAPI misfires, or misconfigured ad campaigns, our team audits and resolves these issues as part of our monthly service. We aim to keep your digital infrastructure optimised so your campaigns run smoothly and efficiently.
What is the difference between client-side and server-side tracking?
Client-side tracking uses browser-based scripts (like Facebook Pixel or Google Analytics tags) to track user activity. However, due to privacy laws and browser restrictions, this method has become less reliable. Server-side tracking, on the other hand, sends data directly from your server to ad platforms, bypassing these limitations. It provides higher data accuracy and better attribution. At TDS, we implement and maintain both tracking methods to ensure your campaigns get the clearest performance insights.
How do I get my website to show in AI search?
Fundamental practices for SEO are vital for AI search and Large Language Models. Your content needs to be formatted and organised, as well as tagged in a certain manner in order for it to be understood by these engines. Making sure you use the correct schema configuration is also vital to make sure platforms such as ChatGPT can understand and present your information to users searching within the platform.
Can you audit my current agency?
Yes, our outlook is that we enjoy learning and collaborating with other teams, and often two heads are better than one. We often do short term contracts to audit your agencies work, and present ideas or developments on how things might be improved or refined. We help solve issues, and support with bringing the latest best practices to your current agencies attention without interrupting their flow of campaign delivery. It’s very rare that an audit doesn’t involve finding value-adding issues and presenting solutions or remedying problems with strategy. Book an Audit Here.
